This week's news:
Well done to Year 5 who have made a fantastic start to our Mile a day in May "Mayday Challenge" for the RNLI. We have used maps around the local area and have enjoyed finding different routes. Thank you to all our supporters. If you would like to sponsor us, please follow the link https://fundraise.rnli.org/fundraisers/cshepperd. We have also learned about the water cycle this week. A particular highlight was using Minecraft to create our own models of the water cycle, although Mrs Shepperd was especially grateful to the children for being so proficient with the technology! We have learnt about the story of Grace Darling and wrote diaries of what happened it how it may have felt on the 7th September 1838, when she and her father rescued survivors from a wrecked steamship. Finally, in readiness for our assessments, Year 5 have been revising lots of the maths and language work that we have covered so far in school. Don't forget that there is some extra practise and materials on the Google Classroom to help you.
