Hi! I'm Miss Price and I am the Deputy Head Teacher at Thornhill Primary School. I have been in Thornhill since January 2023 and absolutely adore it. Before that I taught for 20 years in the Vale of Glamorgan in a lovely school by the sea. I taught every year group there (including when I covered classes for PPA) but I spent most of my career teaching Reception. I really love teaching and helping children to become the best that they can be, and especially loved being creative with singing, art and role play! This is what I did my Masters degree in, looking into the role adults play in helping children to show their creativity.
I love all things nature, and run both Nature Club and the Eco Committee here in Thornhill, as well as the Senedd to help children to have a voice in their school and what happens here. Out of school I love to swim, especially outdoors - in the Summer when the weather is nice I love swimming in the Lido or the sea, or even the waterfalls at Pontneddfechan! I also love reading and going out for brunch with my family and friends - yum!
I have a partner and two daughters who I love to spend time with, and who lots of you will have seen around the school as they love to come in and help out when they have a day off school. I would love a pet but because of allergies in the house we have only got a pet fish named Sammy. However, I adore dogs so much that we borrow Alfie the dog every Monday from a friend, so he is like an honorary member of the family.
