Welcome back!

Welcome back to all of the children and families in Thornhill, and a special welcome to all of those who are new to our school. We have loved seeing all of you this week and it's been amazing to see how seemlessly the children have come straight back into a new school year.

Prospectus for 2026-27

The prospectus for the new year has just been added to this website. It contains a page about staffing for next year. Please note that Mr Maclean will be on a secondment for the first two terms and his class will be covered by Miss Rahman until he returns. 

Tesco vote

Thank you to all of you who voted or promoted the Tesco grant for our eating and growing project. We are delighted to have been awarded £750 and will use it to develop the types of fruit and veg that we grow and use in our recipes so that children can learn more about where their food comes from and how to eat healthily.

Future Stars Coaching after school club

Information will come out soon about any free after school clubs that staff will offer for children in different year groups. We also host some paid-for clubs. Please see the information below if you are interested. 

"Our Sports-zone Club is a fun and active way for children to try a variety of exciting sports and games. Each session introduces children to different skills through activities like football, cricket, basketball, tennis, gymnastics, dodgeball and much more. With a focus on teamwork, movement and having fun, our friendly coaches help every child feel confident and included by getting the know children each week, giving them choices by planning and playing sports & games that they know they love. The sessions are playful and energetic, perfect for developing coordination and a love of being active. It’s a great way for little ones to stay fit, make friends, and discover new favourites!"

After School French club

Please note that the languages clubs are not run by the school and are paid clubs run by Kidslingo. Please contact them directly for information. 

"Bonjour, 

French club is starting on Wednesday 9th September.

Our sessions are topic based and fun-filled with games, songs and role-playing. Our aim is to instill a love for languages from a young age and create a positive and supportive environment for learning. 

Children will learn to apply simple grammar and extend their sentences while having fun. They will develop language and problem solving skills that will help them when starting a language in Y7. 

Children don't need any prior knowledge of French to join. 

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. 

Club details:

Years 1-5  - Wednesday at 15:30 - 16:30
