We are an accredited Silver Rights' Respecting School and are working towards getting our Gold Award. Our policies and curriculum incorporate articles from The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and children are treated with dignity and respect. Children learn about their rights through assemblies, lessons and through what they see happen in every aspect of school life, and are included in making decisions about what and how they want to learn. We have pupil voice groups called: Digital Leaders, Healthy Heroes, School Senedd, Eco Committee and Criw Cymraeg, and members of these groups meet regularly with staff to help make decisions and changes around the school.
All staff understand that they are the duty bearers and are responsible for promoting and safeguarding children's rights. The children know and understand that they are the rights holders and that it is important that they help to promote and safeguard the rights of others as well as enjoying the rights themselves.
