This week's news:
Year 5 Weekly Newsletter
Following on from our work about Martin Luther King, Year 5 have been thinking about their own dreams, ambitions and aspirations.
We have started to think about what our ideal world would look like and feel like. We have discussed issues that affect us in Wales and in countries around the world, such as homelessness, pollution and inequality. We are using these ideas and ideals to create poetry, to inspire others and share our thoughts and feelings. We are designing dreamcatchers to represent our wishes for the future too.
In maths this week we have started to look at equivalent fractions. There is plenty of opportunity to hone those skills on the Google Classroom - click the classwork tab and look for the "Mathemateg" section to practise what you have been taught. Practising equivalent fractions is like discovering that different looking slices can still make the same delicious pizza... blasus iawn!
The highlight of our week has been visiting Techniquest. The Planetarium was out of this world and we really enjoyed the hands on science experience. Thank you to the Techniquest team and especially to the parents who came with us.
Enjoy a safe (but potentially soggy) weekend,
The Year 5 Team
