It has been a slightly quieter but incredibly focused week in Year 5! The children have shown brilliant maturity as we navigated the start of our national testing, while still finding time to unleash their creativity. Here is what we've been up to:

📝 National Testing Update

A huge well done to all of the children for their fantastic focus this week. We have officially begun our testing window and have successfully completed both the Reading test and the Maths Procedural test.

• What's next? We will be tackling the Maths Reasoning test next Tuesday.

• Home Revision: To help keep those maths brains active over the weekend, revision papers are now available on Google Classroom if your child wants to have a go at home!

✍️ Language: Setting the Scene

With our newspaper reports finished, we are shifting gears back to fiction! This week, we have been busy developing rich setting descriptions and deep character descriptions in preparation for our upcoming story writing. The children are using some fantastic vocabulary to bring their imaginary worlds to life.

💧 Topic: H2Whoa! Art Takes Shape

Our inquiry-based learning project is officially underway! This week we began developing our H2Whoa! inspired water art with Miss Lawrence and started our accompanying project work. The ideas flowing around the room are absolutely brilliant.

🎪 School Fayre Reminder

Hopefully, we will see many of you at the School Fayre later today! It promises to be a fantastic event and a great way to celebrate the end of a busy week.
