Year 5 Weekly Newsletter
We have been continuing our journey into our ideal worlds and using similes and metaphors to write, edit and improve our "I have a Dream" poems inspired by Martin Luther King Jr. We are really looking forward to reading everyone's final speech poems ready for the Eisteddfod writing competition.
The fractions have continued in our maths and we have been traversing the hazardous world of equivalent fractions some more! This time we took to the digital world and used Polypad to help us find the equivalent imposters! Simplifying fractions came next and there was absolutely nothing simple about it. Yet this gauntlet was toppled and we came out on top when those fractions could get no smaller! What comes next? What improper or mixed fractions topic will we have to defeat?
We have continued our orienteering activities by increasing the number of map stations and randomising map locations over the playground. Year 5 are training hard for our parental engagement event on the 12th of February.
