This week's news:
Year 5 Weekly Newsletter
This week we have hosted an afternoon whereby many of our families have taken part in orienteering under the strict supervision of our Year 5 children. Well done to all of those who were able to orientate their maps and follow the routes to each control point in order to solve challenges. The children have worked hard to research specific planets and share the facts to prove that all the planets in our Solar System are unique, which was the focus of our inquiry this half term. All of the children's QR codes are now available on the Google Classroom for you to scan and enjoy in the comfort of your own homes.
We have also been working on area and perimeter this week. We enjoyed using the playground to find things to measure in a variety of ways. Did you know that if you walked the playground’s perimeter on the Moon, you’d weigh less — so you could probably do the lap six times faster with Moon‑jumps!
In literacy we have been learning about direct speech. We also enjoyed finding out about the life of Betty Campbell. We have made some fantastic information pages explaining all about this amazing lady.
We hope that everyone has a restful half term break!
