This week's news:
We have reached the end of an incredibly busy and productive week in Year 5. The children have shown immense focus as we wrap up our current projects and prepare for the upcoming national test week. Here is a look at what we've achieved:
Weather permitting, we have officially crossed the finish line of our final week of the Daily Mayday Mile!
We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped us along the way, cheered us on, and donated to this brilliant cause. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised a fantastic total of £445 for the RNLI! We are so proud of the children's dedication to this fundraising project.
This week has been all about building confidence and revising for our upcoming national tests.
Maths & Language: We have been working through past test papers to familiarise ourselves with the layout and question types.
Reading Practice: The children have been practicing reading a variety of different texts and fine-tuning their comprehension skills.
In between all our revision, we also officially finished our fantastic newspaper reports! The final drafts look incredible, complete with those eye-catching headlines, facts, and direct quotes we worked so hard on.
The children are taking the lead on their own learning journeys for our H2whoah! Topic. Keep an eye out for future parent events, where we will be hosting an exhibition to show off some of the great artwork and discoveries they'll be creating!
National testing begins next week. Please ensure the children get plenty of rest this weekend so they can come in feeling confident and ready to do their best.
Here is the schedule for the upcoming assessments:
Monday: Reading Test
Tuesday: Maths Procedural Test
Note: We will be finishing up with the Maths Reasoning Test the following week.
Have a fantastic, restful weekend everyone!
