A great week of locating in year 5!

Following on from our brilliant exhibition last week we have still been full of energy in Year 5. We have been busy using coordinates to give locations! Unfortunately for Mr Rhodes, there was no coordinate locating the biscuits! We have however moved into using four quadrant grids to give precise locations, played a spot of battleships and been on a lovely scavenger hunt to find objects that needed locating on the playground. If anyone didn't know, the elephant is at (-4,3).

In our language we have been throwing down some Kung Fu moves with our punctuation, dodging full stops, throwing out commas and bowing down with some capital letters. A full on punctuation tournament happened on the playground in 5R which was an epic sight. We have certainly become more secure with keeping our writing more consistent with punctuation. 

We have begun an inquiry in our topic work! We have been finding out about heroes of war that work away from the battlefield. We have been surprised to find that there are many vital roles that support a war effort and we will be continuing our inquiry next week with the goal of presenting on Friday next week.
