Year 5 Weekly Newsletter

A grand first week back in Year 5! We have begun our new inquiry looking at the theme of water. H2Whoa!

We have begun to look at different rivers of the world and researched wildlife that lives in and around water. We will soon be DRIFTING further down this CREEK and exploring more!

In our language wokr we have begun to look at the features and purpose of glossaries before designing our own topic based glossaries full of water based vocabulary. We then FLOODED our knowledge banks until we had reached BOILING point and needed to EVAPORATE some much needed breaktime.

In our maths we have SURFED along the WAVES of money, looking at different areas of finance. We tried some budgeting for a party, took a look at reading receipts before we looked at the FLOW of outgoings in an average houshold.

We would also like to congratulate Mrs Harvey on a bery successful first week in 5L. It's a pleasure having you here.
