This week in Year 3, we have had a very busy and exciting week of learning across the curriculum!

In Language, we have been learning how to write a formal persuasive letter using the AFOREST persuasive writing techniques. The children wrote letters to a local place of worship, politely asking if Year 3 could visit as part of our Inquiry topic. They worked hard to include persuasive language, rhetorical questions, opinions and other persuasive features to make their writing effective and convincing.

In Maths, we have been exploring 2D and 3D shapes. We have been identifying, describing and comparing different shapes using mathematical vocabulary. The children have enjoyed investigating the properties of shapes, including the number of sides, vertices, edges and faces.

Our Inquiry has seen us exploring themes of diversity, equality and inclusion. Through activities linked to Show Racism the Red Card, the children have been developing their understanding of respecting others, celebrating differences and recognising the importance of kindness and fairness within our community. We have enjoyed discussing how our differences make us unique and how everyone deserves to feel valued and included.
