This week's news:

We have had a lovely week in Year 2.  In maths, we have been working hard to develop our subtraction skills and problem solving using addition and subtraction methods.  Our language work this week has focused on non-fiction texts and we have been learning how to take notes and how to summarise the information that we have read.  We loved reading all about 'The Amazing Magic Helping Machine' and we all thought we'd love one to help in all of our houses!  We have also been exploring older gadgets and gizmos, finding out how they worked and how they have changed over time.  Making a bulb light up and an alarm to ring were our challenges in our topic work this week and we loved working with the electrical equipment to make this happen.  We have also started to learn the songs that we will be performing in our pantomime 'Jack and the Beanstalk.'  More information about this will be sent home early next week.  Have a wonderful weekend everyone and we can't wait for a busy week of learning and singing next week!
