This week's news:
It has been a lovely first week back after half term in Year 2. We have started our new topic 'Do gadgets and gizmos make our lives better?' and to launch this we became LEGO engineers. We designed and made our own LEGO cars and used programming to make them move in all different directions and speeds. The children were fantastic at working together, following instructions and working through some very difficult tasks. In our language work we have been learning all about Guy Fawkes and the history of the 'Gunpowder Plot.' We have written firework poems, explored onomatopoeic words and made our own firework word walls. In maths we have been using the symbols <, > and = to compare and order different numbers and develop our problem solving skills. It has been a great week back and we cant wait to delve further into our new topic next week.
