๐ŸŒผ This Week in Reception: All About Bees!

We’ve had a wonderfully busy week buzzing with learning as the children explored the fascinating world of bees.

๐Ÿ Drawing Club: The Bumblebear

Our story focus was The Bumblebear. The children loved drawing the characters, imagining the lessons taught at Bee School, and even designing brandโ€‘new disguises for Bumblebear. We also introduced rich new vocabulary, including fearsome, courageous, ferocious, and terrified, which the children enjoyed using in their storytelling.

๐ŸŽจ Art Inspired by Bumblebear

The children created their own colourful paintings of Bumblebear, each one full of personality and creativity.

๐ŸŒ World Bee Day – 20th May

We learned why bees are so important to our environment and celebrated World Bee Day by talking about how we can help protect them.

๐Ÿƒ RSPB Wildlife Challenge

As part of our ongoing challenge, the children made windsocks to explore how the wind moves in different directions. This handsโ€‘on activity sparked lots of curiosity and excitement.

๐ŸŒฑ Outdoor Learning

In the garden, we planted even more vegetables — a second row of beetroot, along with sweetcorn and courgettes. The children are taking great pride in caring for their growing plants.

๐Ÿ… Sports Day Fun

We ended the week with a fantastic Sports Day. The sunshine, smiles, and team spirit made it a brilliant celebration for everyone.
