This week's news:

Despite the rainy weather this week, our Reception children have had a wonderful time exploring, learning, and creating! We made the most of the outdoors with some muddy fun in the mud kitchen, mixing, pouring, and experimenting with different textures. In phonics, we’ve been introduced to the Monster Phonics characters and have started learning the sounds s, a, t, and p. Why not go on a sound hunt at home and see what you can find that starts with these letters? Our music sessions have been full of excitement as we listened carefully to different instruments and matched them to their sounds. We’ve also been busy with mark-making activities, creating all sorts of lines and shapes to make our very own crazy hair pictures! In Drawing Club, we’ve been inspired by the story There’s a Superhero in Your Book by Tom Fletcher. The children loved creating their own Scribblers and imagining what powers they might have! We’ve started talking about the changing seasons and the signs of autumn. Next week, we’ll be learning more, so if you spot any signs of autumn while out and about (like leaves, acorns, conkers, or even take a photo), please bring them in to share with the class. Finally, Google Classroom is now up and running. Please check your emails for your invite so you can stay connected with all our learning adventures. P.S. We are still collecting family photos for our home corner.
