A Fantastic First Week in Reception!

What a fantastic first week we have had in Reception! It has been a busy, exciting week full of smiles, new experiences, and lots of learning. We have even stayed in school for lunch, which was a big milestone for our new learners.

Throughout the week, the children have been learning our daily routines and are already doing a wonderful job helping to tidy up at the end of each session. Today was especially exciting as we helped to chop down our giant sunflower before it toppled over under its own weight. The children were fascinated by how tall it had grown, and we are all looking forward to collecting the seeds next week.

The children have loved meeting the Monster Phonics characters and taking their first steps on their phonics journey. They have also enjoyed exploring all the different areas of our classroom and garden, learning how to play together, share resources, and make new discoveries.

Despite the rainy weather, we were still able to spend some time outdoors and make the most of our learning environment.

We are incredibly proud of our little learners. They have already shown so much curiosity, kindness, confidence, and enthusiasm. What a brilliant start to Reception!

Family Photos Wanted

We would love to make our home corner feel even more special by decorating it with family photographs. If you are happy to share a family photo, please send one into school next week. The children love talking about their families, and having these photographs on display helps them feel at home in our classroom. If you didn't have a chatterbag to fill over the summer please let us know and we'll prepare one for you!
