This Week in Drawing Club

We have had another busy and exciting week in Drawing Club!

This week, we have been reading The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me by Roald Dahl. The children enjoyed drawing the characters from the story and designing their own imaginative Grubber Shops. Using the money from their first pay cheque, they then created exciting adventures for their characters to enjoy!

We have also continued making our 3D minibeast models, which we are looking forward to sharing with the Year 1 class next week. The children have worked hard to add details and make their minibeasts as realistic and colourful as possible.

As part of our literacy work, we explored different types of invitations and discussed the important information they need to include. The children then wrote their own invitations to invite the Year 1 children to visit us next Tuesday and learn more about our minibeasts.

We have also been practising recalling key facts using our fact files, helping us to develop our confidence and knowledge.

Today was a particularly exciting day as we had the opportunity to visit our new classrooms and meet our new teachers and friends. Everyone was very enthusiastic about exploring their new learning environments, and the children returned feeling happy, confident and excited about the year ahead.
