Week 5 Newsletter

We’ve had an eggciting week full of Easter fun and springtime discovery!

Drawing Club – “How to Catch the Easter Bunny”

This week, we enjoyed the story How to Catch the Easter Bunny. We explored new vocabulary together, including sneaky, fluffy, shiny, surprise, and burrow.
The children drew their own Easter bunnies and decided what might be hiding inside their Easter eggs. They also created clever hiding places to keep their bunnies safe and used their imaginations to think of different ways they could try to catch the Easter Bunny!

Exploring and Wondering

We examined “real” eggs and shared our ideas about:

  • what we see
  • what we think
  • what we wonder

We also looked inside our classroom Treasure Chest, using the same questions to spark curiosity and conversation.

Spring Walk

We went on another Spring Walk to look for changes in the world around us. The children were excited to spot new signs of spring and talk about how our environment is changing.

Easter Crafts & Fun

The children created adorable Easter decorations by turning themselves into Easter Bunnies!

We also enjoyed an Easter Hunt, following clues using our Monster Phonics sounds. At each station, the children solved a maths problem to earn an egg sticker, which they added to their Easter baskets—hoping the Easter Bunny would come to visit!

Maths – Catapulting Eggs!

Maths was extra fun this week as we used catapults to launch “eggs” and add up the numbers they landed on. We practised holding the biggest number in our heads and counting on.

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter and a wonderful holiday! 🐣🌷
