NewsletterThis Week’s Adventures in the SunshineWe’ve been making the most of the beautiful sunshine this week, especially in our garden. The children have been busy planting a wide variety of vegetable seeds, carefully preparing the soil, watering their pots, and learning what each plant needs to grow. They’ve shown real curiosity—examining seed shapes, talking about what vegetables they enjoy eating, and predicting which plants might sprout first. It’s been a lovely hands‑on way to explore nature and responsibility. We also encountered lots of creatures as we dug. The children have also been practising for Sports Day. There has been lots of excitement as they’ve tried out different races, worked on their running skills, and encouraged one another. Their enthusiasm and team spirit have been wonderful to see. Our loose‑parts area has been buzzing with creativity too. We’ve seen some fantastic castles being built, with the children thinking carefully about all the different features a castle needs and making sure nothing is missed. A highlight of the week was our adventure to Caerphilly Castle. With our checklists in hand, we explored the grounds and searched for towers, battlements, drawbridges, and more. It was a brilliant opportunity to bring our classroom learning to life. We enjoyed a delicious treat at Fablas Ice Cream Parlour, where everyone sampled some homemade ice cream. It was definitely a visit worth making. In Drawing Club, we’ve been watching the classic Road Runner cartoons, using the characters and their antics as inspiration for our drawings and storytelling.
