Christmas has arrived early in Reception, and the classroom has been buzzing with festive cheer!

This week, the children have been busy designing and creating their very own Christmas cards. Keep an eye out for their Cauliflower Cards, which will be coming home soon, ready for you to order and enjoy.

In Drawing Club, we have been reading the story Bears Don't Eat Egg Sandwiches by Julie Fulton and Rachel Suzanne. We learnt adventurous vocabulary such as delicious, famished, bellowed, roared and cavernous. The children drew the bear and Jack's house, decided what the bear would like to eat, and imagined who might come to visit next!

In Monster Phonics, we have been learning the sounds i and n. We played I Spy to find items beginning with the sounds s, a, t, p, i and n, and enjoyed matching games to reinforce our learning.

In Maths, we played lots of counting games, including an interactive game on the whiteboard. If you head over to Google Classroom, you can play along at home and continue practising these important skills.

Outdoors, we've been preparing the garden for winter. The children worked together to pull up weeds and tidy the area. Our towering sunflowers have finally come to the end of their season, but the children were thrilled to collect the seeds, ready to grow even more giant sunflowers next year!
