Important Information

Request for our garden!

It's that time of year! We're getting our garden ready for planting. We need to put more nutrients into the soil, so if you have any of the following please can you bring them in after half term.

  • Used coffee grounds/ tea bags

  • Clean egg shells

  • Leaf mulch

  • Fruit/ vegetable peelings

  • Wood ash (no coal ash)

Bring them to the main office or to the classrooms and say that they are for Mrs Brown. Thank you!

Eisteddfods

Please see dates above for the Eisteddfod dates. These are just held in school and are not a parent event. Children may come to school on that day wearing red, yellow or green (Welsh colours) or in National Dress. There is no need to buy something new for this event.

Marie Curie Daffodils for sale

We will be selling daffodil pins for Marie Curie. If your child wants to buy any the suggested donation is 50p. You are welcome to send in more as a donation to this good cause. Thank you.

Dogs on site

This has been on previous newsletters but we are finding that lots of parents are bringing dogs onto site. Regardless of the size or age of dog, please do not bring a dog onto the Thornhill Primary School site at any time. This is for the health and safety of the children, and even if you feel that your dog is well behaved, some dogs can be unpredictable.

Calpol in school

If your child feels unwell out of the blue in school then we do have a small amount of Calpol available and will phone you to see if you are happy for us to give your child some. However, if your child has been unwell at home and has had Calpol but is coming into school and you expect them to need another dose, please bring the medicine to the office and complete the medical form on the website. Thank you

Ordering School Dinners

We are finding lots of people are forgetting to order their child's dinners and this can cause difficulty for the kitchen. Please remember to order your child's dinner on Parent Pay before 8am each day. You can order up to three weeks in advance. Many thanks for your cooperation.
