Dear Parents/Carers
We will soon be asking for nominations for two Parent Governors in Thornhill Primary School. This may not be something that you have ever thought about doing or may be something that you are already interested in. Either way, we wanted to give you a bit more information about the role and what it might mean for you if you did decide to run.
The Thornhill Governors are a really friendly, supportive group of people made up of parents, staff and members of the local community who get together to help make decisions about the school. We hold meetings in the evenings (usually at 6:30pm in the school) once a half term as well as some additional meetings if you choose to be on a sub committee as well. Governors sometimes come into school to do learning walks and to see what goes on. It is estimated that the over all time commitment would be no more than 5 hours a month.
Cardiff Local Authority have created an information leaflet at the link below to help you find out more and to reassure you that you do not have to commit lots of time to the role if you were concerned about fitting it into your schedule!

Please take the time to read and consider whether you would be interested in this role, although there is no need to get in touch at this stage. More information will be sent out over the next few weeks before we advertise the vacancies after the Easter Holidays.
Thank you for your continued support of the school,
Kind regards
Cerian Price
