Cook outside

Cooking outside doesn't have to be an elaborate affair. Whether you just want to use a candle to toast a marshmallow on or whether you have a huge fire pit, eating outside is a lovely way to connect with nature, similar to the page about eating a picnic. Children might try different foods outside that they wouldn't inside, so give it a try!

If you don't have a fire pit or BBQ, you can get disposable ones cheaply in supermarkets. You just need to make sure that they are not put on dry grass as they will burn it and could set fire to it, but a paving slab or some bricks is a good base.

Simple recipes to try include:

baked bananas

Campfire bread

s'mores
