Thornhill Primary School has been working with Tempo (formally Spice Time Credits) for a number of years.
We have developed our work to show that we value everyone’s time, no matter who they are. Time Credits open up new opportunities to try new things, learn, be healthier and have fun. Time Credits allows us to work across many sectors. We’re passionate about the power within communities, and think that we’re better at solving problems when we work together. Our programmes embody exciting partnerships between individuals and the public, voluntary and private sectors.
The schools programme works with both parents and students of all ages to raise aspirations and achievement whilst building confidence, developing skills and improving learning. The specialist Tempo Schools model is proven to improve individual outcomes and connect schools to their local communities.
Time Credits focus on four key outcomes: raising attainment; supporting increased literacy and numeracy; supporting transition; and community integration. Time Credits can form a focal point for student-led activity; open up new, non-traditional types of learning; improve inter-generational relationships; develop peer-led support systems; and tackle disadvantage for families.
This year parents and children have received Time Credits for:
Pori Drwy Stori
School's Out, Dad's About (SODA) club
